The „Worldmap“ is my first
ever made millimetercutting.
An upcoming exhibition in
mind – which happened to be “A Spires Ember” curated by Museum MAN in Kiev – I decided
to cut the outline the way it reminds of traditional stamps as stamps are a symbol
of necessity for communication.
In collecting the cutted out
paper squares and including them into the piece I wanted to imply the
possibility of re-covering parts of the map, pointing out the shortsightedness of
perception – not just in the art-world.
